THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THIS WORK GROUP IS TO REENERGIZE A COLLECTIVE [00:15:01] IMPACT INITIATIVE TO PROVIDE INFORMATION TO PARENTS OF DUBLIN YOUTH STAFF IS CURRENTLY WORKING WITH THE ACT COALITION, NATIONWIDE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL AND THE KIDS' MENTAL HEALTH FOUNDATION TO EVALUATE AND REVISE EXISTING CAMPAIGN SOURCE CONTENT AND DETERMINE WHAT SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE PARENT RESOURCES. WE HAVE RECEIVED A COST PROPOSAL FOR MARKETING AND PROMOTIONAL ASSISTANCE AND WILL BE ASKING TO UTILIZE POLICE SEIZURE FUNDS FOR THESE EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES, WHICH WILL BE COMING BEFORE COUNSEL FOR APPROVAL AS A Q3 SUPPLEMENTAL. THESE FUNDS ARE ALLOCATED FOR COMMUNITY PREVENTION EDUCATION PROGRAMS OR PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO EDUCATE ADULTS AND CHILDREN WITH RESPECT TO THE DANGERS ASSOCIATED WITH USING DRUGS OF ABUSE. FINALLY, YOU'LL SEE HERE THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS WORK GROUP. THIS GROUP IS WORKING ON THREE MAIN OBJECTIVES. THE FIRST OBJECTIVE IS TO DEVELOP A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF WHY NON-CONNECTED PEOPLE FEEL THAT WAY AND HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH THEM MORE EFFECTIVELY. THE GOAL IS TO THOROUGHLY ANALYZE THE QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE DATA RECEIVED BY Q1 OF 2026 AND DRAFT A SUMMARY THAT CAN HELP GUIDE FUTURE EFFORTS. THE SECOND OBJECTIVE IS TO OFFER NATIONAL GOOD NEIGHBOR DAY PROGRAMMING TO DUBLIN RESIDENTS. DUBLIN, GOOD NEIGHBOR WEEK WILL BE RECOGNIZED FOR 10 DAYS FROM SEPTEMBER 18TH THROUGH THE 28TH. THIS COINCIDES WITH THE NATIONAL DAY THAT IS OBSERVED ANNUALLY ON SEPTEMBER 28TH. PLANS INCLUDE A DONATION DRIVE FOR THE DUBLIN FOOD PANTRY IN ONE DUBLIN, AN OPPORTUNITY FOR NEIGHBORS TO NOMINATE GOOD NEIGHBORS FOR RECOGNITION AND A COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS CHALLENGE TO ENCOURAGE NEIGHBORLY ACTS OF KINDNESS. A COMMUNICATIONS PLAN HAS BEEN DEVELOPED BY OUR COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING TEAM TO ALLOW THE COMMUNITY TO ENGAGE IN THESE OFFERINGS. THE THIRD OBJECTIVE IS TO INCREASE COMMUNITY CAPACITY FOR ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND VOLUNTEERING. CITY STAFF MEMBERS HAVE ORGANIZED 13 GATHERINGS THIS YEAR TO PROVIDE RESIDENTS WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO CONNECT AND ENGAGE AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO. THESE INCLUDE THINGS LIKE THE MLK, SUNDAY SUPPER, SENIOR BUDDY GATHERINGS, JUNETEENTH OPEN HOUSE COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY, AND VOLUNTEER TEAM GATHERINGS. THIS SLIDE IDENTIFIES THE RESOURCES NEEDED FOR EACH OF THE NINE OBJECTIVES. SOME OF THESE WILL REQUIRE MONETARY FUNDING, BUT THE MAJORITY OF THEM ARE ABLE TO BE ACHIEVED THROUGH IN-KIND CONTRIBUTIONS OF STAFF AND WORK GROUP TIME FOR 2025. UM, BECAUSE THE COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS ARE SOMETIMES HARD TO FIND WHEN YOU HAVE TO GO TO EVERYBODY'S CALENDAR TO FIND OUT WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE YOUTH OR WHAT THE SENIORS OR WHATEVER. AND IF WE COULD FIND A ONE, ONE PLACE THAT WE COULD HAVE A COMMUNITY CALENDAR WHERE PEOPLE KNOW WHERE TO GO SO THEY CAN GET CONNECTED TO EACH OTHER. UM, TONIGHT'S UPDATE WILL INCLUDE FINDINGS FROM THE PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT PROCESS THAT WE HAD OVER THE SUMMER, AS WELL AS SUMMARIZED ALTERNATIVE ANALYSIS THAT WAS PERFORMED ON THE DIFFERENT ALIGNMENT ALTERNATIVES OR ROUTES, UM, AND THE KEY RESULTS. WE'LL ALSO PROVIDE A RECOMMENDATION ON THE PREFERRED, UH, SIGNATURE TRAIL ALIGNMENT AND OUTLINE PREFERRED DESIGN OBJECTIVES AND PROPOSED TRAIL TYPOLOGIES. REALLY EXCITED TO SHARE THE PROGRESS WE'VE MADE, UH, SINCE WE WERE WITH YOU IN APRIL ON THE, THE SIGNATURE TRAIL AND, AND REALLY EXCITED TO KEEP THIS PROJECT MOVING FORWARD, UM, FOR THE RESIDENTS IN THE COMMUNITY OF DUBLIN. SO, REALLY QUICKLY, UH, JUST THE AGENDA FOR TONIGHT. WE'RE GONNA GIVE YOU A QUICK RECAP OF WHAT WE'VE DONE SO FAR, WHAT WE'VE HEARD, THE ANALYSIS THAT WE'VE GONE THROUGH, UM, THE PREFERRED ALTERNATIVE THAT JM MENTIONED, UM, AND THEN WHAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT WHEN WE LOOK AT NEXT STEPS IN TERMS OF SIGNATURE EXPERIENCES ALONG THE DUBLIN TRAIL, UM, AND DIFFERENT TYPOLOGIES OF THE TRAIL AS PEOPLE MOVE, UM, THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. SO, QUICK RECAP. IN TERMS OF SCHEDULE, UH, WE KICKED THIS PROJECT OFF IN JULY OF 2024. UH, SINCE THAT TIME, WE'VE DONE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF ANALYSIS LOOKING AT DIFFERENT TRAIL ROUTES, DIFFERENT ALTERNATIVES, DIFFERENT PLACES, UM, THAT PEOPLE WANNA GO OVER THE PA OVER THE SUMMER WE DID A LOT OF ENGAGEMENT, UM, JAM AND HIS TEAM DID A GREAT JOB GOING OUT INTO THE COMMUNITY, UM, MEETING PEOPLE WHERE THEY ARE, IN ADDITION TO HAVING A SURVEY TO REALLY GET AS MUCH FEEDBACK AS WE CAN. UH, RIGHT NOW WE'RE KIND OF REALLY MOVING INTO SORT OF THIS CONCEPTUAL TRAIL DESIGN PHASE OF WE HOPE TO IDENTIFY TO PREFERRED ALIGNMENT. UM, AND REALLY AS PART OF THAT DESIGN PHASE IS REALLY LOOKING AT THE PLACEMAKING, UM, AND IDENTITY OF THE PROJECT AS WE LOOK TO WRAP UP THE TRAIL, UH, STUDY THIS YEAR. SO WHAT MAKES A SIGNATURE TRAIL? IT'S REALLY TWO BIG COMPONENTS. UM, ONE IS THE ROUTE, WHERE IS IT GOING? UM, WHERE IS IT TAKING PEOPLE? UM, AND THEN THE DESIGN, WHAT IS IT, YOU KNOW, THE FIT AND FEEL AND THE CHARACTER OF THE TRAIL AS YOU EXPERIENCE IT MOVING THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. SO THE FIRST PIECE WE'VE BEEN REALLY BEEN FOCUSING ON IS THE ROUTE. UM, AS YOU'LL REMEMBER, THESE WERE THE ALTERNATIVES OVERLAY THAT WE SHARED WITH YOU LAST TIME. UM, WE HAD A WIDE VARIETY OF ROUTES THAT WE LOOKED AT. UM, WE SORT OF NARROWED THEM DOWN TO THESE FOUR. WE DID AN INITIAL SORT OF ANALYSIS OF WHY WE, YOU KNOW, MOVED THESE FOUR ALONG BECAUSE WE FELT THEY HAD THE BEST SIGNATURE POTENTIAL, UM, AND ELIMINATED OTHER ROUTES BECAUSE WE FELT THEY WEREN'T SIGNATURE ENOUGH, UH, TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THE STUDY. THESE FOUR ROUTES IS WHAT WE TOOK TO THE PUBLIC, UM, OVER THE SUMMER AND WHAT WE DID A LOT OF OUR ALTERNATIVES ANALYSIS UPON. SO WHAT WE HEARD WITH THE COMMENTS ABOUT THOSE ROUTES AND OTHER ELEMENTS OF THE SIGNATURE TRAIL, AS I MENTIONED OVER THE SUMMER, WE HELD OVER 13 NUMBER OF IN EVENTS, UM, ENGAGED A LOT OF DIFFERENT PEOPLE, UM, INCLUDING ONLINE AND BOTH IN-PERSON, UM, MEETINGS. WE ALSO HAD A MEETING WITH A YOUTH GROUP, UM, TO REALLY ENGAGE DIFFERENT GROUPS ON WHAT THEIR THOUGHTS ARE ABOUT THE SIGNATURE TRAIL, INCLUDING BOTH THE ROUTE ALIGNMENT AND THEN WHAT SOME OF THE FEATURES AND AMENITIES THEY WOULD LIKE TO SEE ALONG THE TRAIL. SO JUST TO GIVE YOU A QUICK RECAP OF THE COMMON THEMES, UM, A LOT OF THESE ARE ALL IMPORTANT. UM, YOU KNOW, WE HAD A LOT OF DIFFERENT THEMES AND ELEMENTS THAT WE PROVIDED TO PEOPLE TO VOTE ON. ALL OF 'EM ARE REALLY CRITICAL, UM, FOR A SIGNATURE TRAIL AND REALLY MAKING IT SUCCESSFUL. BUT WE REALLY WANTED TO HEAR WHAT SOME OF THE TOP PRIORITIES WERE FOR PEOPLE. AND YOU'LL SEE IN A LOT OF WAYS, UH, BOTH [00:35:01] IN TERMS OF WHAT PEOPLE SAID HERE IN TERMS OF COMMON THEMES, UM, ALIGNED EXACTLY TO WHAT WE HEARD, UM, FROM COUNCIL WHEN WE WERE HERE IN APRIL. UM, INCLUDING THE TOP THREE ELEMENTS ABOUT SEPARATION FROM CARS, UM, NEIGHBORHOOD CONNECTOR, AND DIFFERENT ELEMENTS LIKE THAT. UM, IN TERMS OF SUMMARY OF THE COMMON THEMES, AGAIN, REINFORCING, YOU KNOW, ALL OF THESE ARE VERY IMPORTANT. CAR-FREE ACCESS, VARIOUS TRIP TYPES, SAFETY AND COMFORT, ALL THINGS THAT WE WOULD WANT TO DO WHEN BUILDING A SIGNATURE TRAIL IN ANY LOCATION. UM, REALLY THE ONE KEY THING THAT WE THOUGHT WAS INTERESTING HERE IS THIS IDEA OF A NATURE AND URBAN BLEND, UM, TYPE OF TRAIL. AND WHEN WE GO THROUGH THE ROUTE SELECTION AND SORT OF WHAT WE THINK OUR PREFERRED ALTERNATIVE IS, WE REALLY THINK THAT CAPTURES THAT SPIRIT OF A NATURE AND URBAN BLEND, UM, TYPE OF EXPERIENCE THROUGH THE CITY OF DUBLIN. SO QUICKLY, I'LL GO THROUGH THE RESULTS. ONE OF THE THINGS WE DID WHEN WE ASKED PEOPLE ABOUT THE ROUTE OPTIONS AND WHICH ONES THEY WANTED TO, UH, YOU KNOW, WHICH ONES THEY LIKED OR WHICH THEY PREFERRED, WE SEPARATE 'EM IN DIFFERENT SEGMENTS BECAUSE WE WANTED PEOPLE TO FOCUS ON THAT ROUTE IN THAT LOCATION AND NOT FEEL LIKE IF THEY PICKED THE POSSIBILITY PARKWAY, THEY WERE, YOU KNOW, THEY HAD TO HAVE THAT RED LINE THE ENTIRE SIX OR SEVEN MILES. WE WANTED PEOPLE TO THINK ABOUT, YOU KNOW, WHAT, WHERE THEY WANTED TO GO IN EACH SEGMENT. AND IF WE HAD TO COME UP WITH A HYBRID OPTION, THAT WAS GONNA BE OUR JOB TO SORT OF SEE HOW WE COULD FIT THOSE PIECES TOGETHER. SO IN THE FIRST SEGMENT ON THE WESTERN END, THE GREEN RIBBON WAS THE, THE OVERWHELMING FAVORITE, UM, BOTH WITH THE COMMUNITY AND WITH COUNCIL. IN THE CENTRAL SEGMENT, UH, AGAIN, THE GREEN RIBBON SCORED VERY HIGH ALONG ALIGNING WITH COUNCIL AS WELL, UH, WITH THE MOST VOTES. AND AT THE EASTERN END, UM, THE GREEN RIBBON WAS STILL A POPULAR ONE, BUT HERE WAS THE IDEA WHERE THE COS GRAY CONNECT, UH, STARTED TO COME INTO PLAY AS A PREFERRED ROUTE ALTERNATIVE. SO REALLY YOU CAN KIND OF SEE WHEN WE LOOK AT SORT OF THE RESULTS SUMMARY, THE THREE DIFFERENT ROUTE TYPES THAT WERE SELECTED. SO WE HAD THE WESTERN SEGMENT, THE CENTRAL SEGMENT BOTH HAD THE GREEN RIBBON, OR THE EASTERN SEGMENT HAD THE COS GRAY CONNECT. AND THAT WAS PART OF WHY WE WANTED TO SEPARATE OUT THE VOTES, UM, IN EACH SEGMENT TO SORT OF FIGURE OUT HOW WE COULD SORT OF WEAVE THOSE ROUTES TOGETHER, UH, FOR THE FINAL PREFERRED ALIGNMENT. SO WITH THOSE FOUR ROUTES, WE ALSO COMPLETED OUR AL ALTERNATIVES ANALYSIS. UM, THIS REALLY FOCUSED ON THREE KEY QUESTIONS. WE WANTED TO KNOW IF THE ROUTE WAS SIGNATURE, UM, IS IT FOUNDATIONAL AND IS IT ACTIONABLE? AND THE LAST TIME WE WERE HERE, WE CAME AND WE ASKED YOU ABOUT DIFFERENT CRITERIA, THINGS LIKE ACCESS TO JOBS, UM, YOU KNOW, COST, UM, IS IT A COMMUNITY PREFERRED TRAIL EXPERIENCE, A LOT OF DIFFERENT CRITERIA THAT WE WANTED TO RANK, UM, THESE DIFFERENT ROUTES, UH, YOU KNOW, AGAINST EACH OTHER WITH. AND WE WAITED THAT CRITERIA BASED ON THE FEEDBACK WE HEARD FROM COUNCIL TO REALLY GET TO THESE RESULTS. SO LIKE THE COMMUNITY FEEDBACK, UM, THE, THE ANNOUNCED RESULTS, YOU KNOW, CAME UP WITH THE SAME, UM, ROUTES FOR EACH ONE OF THE SEC SEGMENTS ON THE WESTERN SEGMENT. UH, THE GREEN RIBBON SCORE THE HIGHEST WITH, YOU KNOW, REALLY FOCUSING ON THE SIGNATURE ELEMENT AS BEING KIND OF ONE OF THE KEY DIFFERENTIATORS IN THIS SECTION WITH A LOT OF THE ROUTES, HAVING SORT OF SOME OF THE SAME, UM, CHARACTERISTICS, UM, IN TERMS OF, YOU KNOW, DESTINATION. 'CAUSE YOU CAN SEE WHERE THEY PARALLEL EACH OTHER PRETTY SIGNIFICANTLY IN THIS LOCATION. UM, IN THE MIDDLE SECTION, THE GREEN RIBBON ALSO SCORED THE HIGHEST FOR BOTH AT SIGNATURE, UH, RANK, AND THEN THE ABILITY TO BE AN ACTIONABLE PROJECT. AND THEN LOOKING AT THE EASTERN SECTION, OUR RESULTS ANALYSIS, THIS AGAIN, YOU KNOW, FOLLOW THE COMMUNITY FEEDBACK WITH THE COS GREAT CONNECT SCORING THE HIGHEST IN BOTH THE SIGNATURE AND FOUNDATIONAL CATEGORIES. SO AGAIN, THE SUMMARY HERE SHOWED THAT THE, THE WESTERN AND CENTRAL SEGMENT WERE THE HIGHEST, UH, SCORING ROUTES IN TERMS OF THE ANALYSIS AND THEN THE EASTERN SEGMENT, UM, BEING THE HIGHEST SCORING ROUTE, UM, AS WELL. SO YOU CAN SEE BOTH THE ANALYSIS AND THE COMMUNITY FEEDBACK AND COUNCIL FEEDBACK HAD SIMILAR RESULTS FOR EACH ONE OF THE SEGMENTS THROUGHOUT, UH, THE SIGNATURE TRAIL STUDY. SO I JUST WANNA SAY WE'RE EXCITED. UM, IT SHOWS THAT YOU WERE VERY MUCH IN TUNE WITH YOUR RESIDENTS BECAUSE, UH, WHAT YOU GAVE US TO GO OUT TO THE COMMUNITY IS EXACTLY WHAT THE COMMUNITY SAID BACK AND ALSO WHAT OUR TECHNICAL ANALYSIS CAME BACK WITH. SO, UH, YOU CAN SEE THERE'S A NICE GRAVITY AND CONSENSUS ON THE PREFERRED ALIGNMENT. SO WITH THAT, LIKE I MENTIONED, WE TOOK ALL OF THAT INFORMATION AND WE TRY TO COME UP WITH WHAT WE CALL THE PREFERRED ALTERNATIVE, UH, SORT OF HYBRID OF THE, THE COS RATE CONNECT AND THE GREEN RIBBON. SO THIS IS THE PREFERRED ROUTE, SORT OF AS WE SEE IT WITH THE, THE COS GRAY CONNECT, UH, ROUTING ON THE EASTERN EDGE AND THE GREEN RIBBON AND THE CENTRAL, UM, AND WESTERN PORTIONS. UH, ONE OF THE THINGS WHEN LOOKING AT THIS, WE WANTED TO MAKE SURE WE HIT, UM, ALL KEY DESTINATIONS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY AND ALSO SORT OF THE GOALS, UM, AND, YOU KNOW, CHALLENGES THAT WE WERE, YOU KNOW, TASKED WITH THROUGHOUT THIS PROJECT. SO WHAT WE, WHOOPS, SO WHAT WE DID, UM, IS WE CAME UP WITH A, A PREFERRED ROUTE, UM, YOU KNOW, IN THE SORT OF WHAT WE'RE CALLING THE PREFERRED ROUTE PLUS IN THE SHORT TERM AND LONG TERM. AND THE PREFERRED ROUTE PLUS IS REALLY OUR EFFORT TO SORT OF MAKE SURE WE [00:40:01] MAKE A CONNECTION, UM, TO METRO CENTER AS PART OF THIS OPPORTUNITY. SO YOU'LL SEE IN THE DASH LINE HERE, UM, WE HAVE SORT OF WHAT WE'RE CALLING SHORT-TERM OPPORTUNITIES, UM, USING EXISTING ROUTES AND EXISTING CONNECTIONS TO MAKE CONNECTIONS TO METRO CENTER, UM, ANTER BRIDGE PARK, WITH THE SOLID LINES BEING WHAT WE WOULD WANNA EVENTUALLY HAVE AS THE LONG-TERM CONNECTION, UM, OF THE SIGNATURE TRAIL THROUGH METRO CENTER AND THEN USING JOHN SHIELDS PARKWAY, UM, ACROSS THE RIVER. SO LOOKING THAT THIS IS SORT OF A BLOW UP, IF YOU COULD SEE THAT IN A LITTLE MORE DETAIL, UM, THE IDEA IS WE WOULD CREATE, UH, SHORT-TERM CONNECTIONS TO REALLY MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAIL, UM, HAS THOSE LINKS TO THOSE KEY DESTINATIONS UTILIZING EXISTING, UH, TRAIL ASSETS AND CROSSINGS, UM, BUT THEN LOOKING LONG-TERM FOR CONNECTIONS USING A JOHN SHIELDS CROSSING, UM, A SHIRE RINGS CROSSING, UH, TO METRO CENTER LOOP AS THOSE OPPORTUNITIES ARISE TO REALLY MAKE SURE THE SIGNATURE TRAIL CONNECTS ALL OF THOSE DESTINATIONS. TWO THINGS I WANNA NOTE. ONE IS, YOU KNOW, METRO CENTER IS SOMETHING WE HEARD FROM ALL OF YOU IS, IS MAKING SURE THAT WE THINK ABOUT HOW TO CONNECT IT. SO WE WENT OUT OF OUR WAY TO MAKE SURE WE DID THAT HERE. THE OTHER THING IS, THERE ARE PLACES WHERE WE'RE CROSSING STREETS, UM, YOU KNOW, WHEN WE GET INTO THE DETAILED ANALYSIS, SOME OF THIS MIGHT, THE ALIGNMENT MIGHT JUST SHIFT A LITTLE BIT. BUT WHAT WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU TONIGHT IS GENERALLY, DO THESE CORRIDORS MAKE SENSE? SO IN ONE KEY PIECE I WANT TO HIGHLIGHT IS FROM THE BEGINNING OF THIS PROJECT, WE'VE REALLY BEEN FOCUSED ON MAKING SURE THAT THIS ALIGNS WITH BOTH ENVISION DUBLIN AND THE OTHER PROJECTS GOING ON THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. SO TO ENSURE THAT, YOU KNOW, WE CAN LEVERAGE AS MUCH ACTIVATION AS WE CAN, UM, YOU KNOW, AND TIE THIS PROJECT TO OTHER PROJECTS, YOU KNOW, FOR EFFICIENCY AND COST SAVINGS, WHETHER IT'S BRIDGE CROSSINGS OR OTHER ROADWAY WORK, TO REALLY ENSURE THAT THE SIGNATURE TRAIL CAN BE SOMETHING THAT'S BOTH ACTIONABLE, UM, YOU KNOW, IN BOTH THE SHORT TERM AND LONG TERM THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. SO YOU'LL SEE HERE WHERE WE'VE HIGHLIGHTED SOME OF THOSE CROSSING OPPORTUNITIES THAT HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED IN VISION DUBLIN AND HOW NOT ONLY THIS ROUTE, BUT A LOT OF OUR OTHER ROUTES SORT OF ALIGNED WITH THOSE CROSSINGS TO MAKE SURE WE CAN LEVERAGE THOSE OPPORTUNITIES. SO THAT SORT OF CONCLUDES KIND OF THE THOUGHT AROUND THE ROUTE. UM, THIS IS REALLY THE PART THAT GETS US REALLY EXCITED IS WHEN WE START THINKING ABOUT SIGNATURE EXPERIENCES. AND WE REALLY CAN'T DEFINE THESE TOO MUCH UNTIL WE KNOW, YOU KNOW, WHERE THE ROUTE LOCATION IS. BUT THIS REALLY GETS INTO THIS IDEA OF ROUTE LOCATION AND THEN TRAIL DESIGN. IT'S REALLY WHAT COMES TOGETHER TO MAKE A REALLY SIGNATURE EXPERIENCE. SO WHAT WE'VE STARTED TO DO IS WE'VE STARTED TO LOOK AT THE PLACEMAKING AND EXPERIENCED TYPOLOGIES THAT COULD HAPPEN, UM, ALONG THIS ROUTE. AND YOU CAN SEE THE IDEA HERE WITH THAT SORT OF URBAN AND NATURE BLEND. UM, YOU WOULD HAVE THE PARKLANDS IN THE MIDDLE REALLY FOCUSING ON THAT, YOU KNOW, THE RED TRABU, THE NATURE PRESERVE, THE PARK. YOU'D EVEN HAVE THE RECREATION ZONE ON THE WEST AROUND DARI FIELDS, REALLY FOCUS ON THAT IDEA OF, YOU KNOW, THE NATURE. AND THEN WE'D HAVE THESE URBAN OPPORTUNITIES BOTH AROUND METRO CENTER, AROUND THE URBAN CORE AND THE HISTORIC CORE, AND THEN ALSO POTENTIALLY THE WEST INNOVATION DISTRICT. SO REALLY THIS IDEA OF, YOU KNOW, YOU HAVE, UH, TRAIL ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT, YOU KNOW, IN SOME CERTAIN AREAS AND THEN YOU CAN GO BACK INTO A NATURE EXPERIENCE AND THEN BACK OUT TO ADDITIONAL TRAIL, UH, ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT TO REALLY HAVE THAT NATURE, UM, AND URBAN BLEND AS PEOPLE MOVE EAST AND WEST THROUGHOUT THE CORRIDOR. SO WE JUST STARTED TO LOOK AT, YOU KNOW, KIND OF WHAT THOSE EXPERIENCES MAY BE, UM, AROUND THE PARKLANDS. AND THIS IS REALLY WHAT WE'RE LOOKING AT IN, OF, ON WORKING WITH JM AND HIS TEAM ON THE NEXT STEPS OF REALLY SORT OF DEFINING THESE IN MORE DETAIL OF WHAT THAT EXPERIENCE LOOKS LIKE. UM, AS WE TRY TO MAKE THIS TRAIL FEEL CONSISTENT AND UNIFIED, UM, THROUGH ALL ITS LENGTH. IN ADDITION TO THE EXPERIENCE, WE'VE ALSO STARTED TO REALLY HONE IN ON TRAIL TYPOLOGIES. AND THIS IS REALLY MAKING SURE WE HAVE THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF WIDTH, UM, AND SPACE FOR A REALLY SIGNATURE EXPERIENCE. IT'S COMFORTABLE FOR FAMILIES AND PEOPLE OF ALL AGES AND ABILITIES, WHETHER YOU'RE RIDING A BIKE, TAKING A SCOOTER, UM, PUSHING A STROLLER, ENSURING THAT IN ANY ONE OF THOSE SECTIONS THE TRAIL CAN RESPOND, UM, TO, YOU KNOW, HEAVY USERS, UM, AT ANY TIME OF DAY. SO WE'VE LOOKED AT THE TRAIL TYPOLOGIES, UM, YOU KNOW, IN DIFFERENT SORT OF CATEGORIES, UH, A NATURE PRESERVE, TYPOLOGY, AN URBAN TYPOLOGY, AND THEN A NEW DEVELOPMENTS OR EXISTING PARK TYPOLOGY. UM, SO IN FURTHERANCE OF THAT SUSTAINABLE SECTION AND SPECIFICALLY ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY, THAT BRINGS US HERE TODAY. BY WAY OF BACKGROUND, CITY COUNCIL ADOPTED THE 2018 TO 2020 SUSTAINABILITY FRAMEWORK AT THE SEPTEMBER 24TH, 2018 MEETING. THIS WAS EXTENDED FOR AN EXTRA YEAR DUE TO THE PANDEMIC AND JUST NOT BEING ABLE TO COMPLETE SOME OF THE ITEMS, UM, DURING LOCKDOWN. UH, AS WE BEGAN TO UPDATE THAT FRAMEWORK, WE ENDED UP HIRING A OUTSIDE CONSULTANT TO HELP US WITH THAT PROCESS. WE WANTED TO MAKE THIS ONE OF THE TOP SUSTAINABILITY PLANS IN THE COUNTRY, MAKE THIS ONE OF A KIND AND, UM, REALLY LOOK AT INDUSTRY STANDARDS FOR THE GOALS. UM, SO IT WAS REVIEWED, THE DRAFT PLAN WAS REVIEWED BY CITY COUNCIL AT THE JUNE 3RD, 2024 MEETING. CITY COUNCIL, UH, PROVIDED FEEDBACK ON THE DISCUSSION ITEMS ON YOUR SCREEN. SO THOSE WERE, WHAT WAS COUNCIL'S FEEDBACK REGARDING STRATEGIES AND ACTIONS OUTLINED IN THE PLAN. WAS THERE ANYTHING NOT INCLUDED IN THE PLAN THAT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE IT TO ADDRESS? AND WAS COUNCIL SUPPORTIVE OF REFERRING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DUBLIN SUSTAINABILITY PLAN TO WHAT AT THE TIME WAS THE COMMUNITY SERVICES ADVISORY COMMISSION NOW COMMITTEE FOR THEIR FEEDBACK WITH RECOMMENDATIONS MADE BACK TO COUNCIL FOR ADOPTION? SO SINCE THAT TIME, STAFF AND THE CONSULTANT WORKED TO UPDATE THE PLAN BASED ON COUNCIL'S FEEDBACK. SO THIS IS JUST A LITTLE BIT OF BACKGROUND, SOME ADDITIONAL BACKGROUND FOR THE TIMELINE OF THIS PROJECT. UM, WE'VE BEEN WORKING HARD ON IT. WE KICKED IT OFF IN 2023, HAD A NUMBER OF, UH, TOUCH POINTS WITH THE PUBLIC, INCLUDING SURVEYS AND A, UH, UH, COMMUNITY WORKSHOP ON THAT. WE SURVEYED THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY, AND THEN OUR SENIOR LEADERSHIP TEAM HAS SPENT A GOOD AMOUNT OF TIME REVIEWING THIS AS WELL. SO, ONE AREA OF COUNCIL FEEDBACK THAT WAS ADDRESSED, UH, THERE WAS A RECOMMENDATION THAT THE CITY CREATE AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING A CISTERN OUTSIDE OF EVERY NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING. SO TO IMPLEMENT THE EXISTING POLICIES RELATED TO THIS, AND TO TIE THE SUSTAINABILITY PLAN INTO THE STORMWATER MANAGEMENT DESIGN MANUAL THAT IS EXISTING, A GOAL WAS ADDED TO ENCOURAGE THE USE OF RAIN BARRELS AND CISTERNS FOR WATER RECLAMATION, WHICH IS CONSISTENT WITH THE STORMWATER MANAGEMENT DESIGN MANUAL. UM, THE CITY CAN INCREASE EDUCATION AND AWARENESS OF THE BENEFITS OF RAIN BARRELS, BOTH AS WATER REUSE AND AS A RECLAMATION SOURCE TO KEEP IT OUT OF THE SYSTEM. THERE IS ALSO AN ACTION ITEM IN THE PLAN AS AN, UH, OPPORTUNITY FOR THE CITY TO PILOT A PROJECT AT A COMMUNITY PARK FOR UNDERGROUND AND ONSITE STORM WATER RETENTION AND REUSE FOR IRRIGATION, UM, AND ANY, UH, SPRINKLER NEEDS OF THAT PARK. GREEN ROOFS, WHICH ARE A COMMON NATURE BASED SOLUTION, UM, TO GREEN STORMWATER INFRASTRUCTURE. AND OUR APPROVED, UH, USE AS PART OF A, AS A STORMWATER CONTROL MEASURE IN THE STORMWATER MANAGEMENT DESIGN MANUAL. WERE ALSO BROUGHT UP STRATEGY 2.2 0.6 IN ACTIONS THREE SIX C. BOTH ADDRESS WAYS THAT THE CITY CAN ENCOURAGE BUILDERS TO INCORPORATE GREEN ROOFS AND OTHER GREEN BUILDING STANDARDS INTO DEVELOPMENT. AS COUNCIL AWARE, THERE IS AN ONGOING DISCUSSION OF GREEN ROOFS. AFTER THE INITIAL DISCUSSION AT THE MAY 20TH, UH, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE THIS YEAR, COUNCIL ALSO PROVIDED FEEDBACK THAT THE PLAN, UH, SHOULD BE MORE ACCESSIBLE TO RESIDENTS. SO STAFF HAS WORKED TO CREATE AN EXECUTIVE SUMMARY. THIS HIGHLIGHTS THE MOST IMPACTFUL INITIATIVES FROM THE PLAN. THE PLAN ITSELF, UH, REMAINS VERY COMPREHENSIVE AND INCLUDES A GOOD AMOUNT OF DETAIL. AND THAT IS INTENDED TO PROVIDE STAFF WITH A ROADMAP TO IMPLEMENT THE BIG IDEAS THAT ARE HIGHLIGHTED IN THE EXECUTIVE SUMMARY AND MORE. COUNCIL ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE PLAN INCLUDES SEVERAL ITEMS THAT THE CITY IS ALREADY IMPLEMENTING, SUCH AS MICRO MOBILITY. THE IN PROGRESS SECTION OF THE OVERVIEW OF IMPLEMENTATION, WHICH IS TOWARDS THE END OF THE PLAN, LISTS ITEMS THAT THE CITY IS ALREADY IMPLEMENTING. AND THAT INCLUDES, UM, ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION AND MICRO MOBILITY PROJECTS, INCLUDING, UM, THE VO PROJECT THAT LAUNCHED EARLIER THIS YEAR. A CRITICAL RECOMMENDATION THAT THE PLAN MAKES IS HIRING A CONSULTANT TO REVIEW THE CODE, TO IDENTIFY ANY INCONSISTENCIES RELATED TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT. SOME OF THIS WORK WILL BE PART OF AN UPCOMING PROJECT LED BY PLANNING. AND THEN WE ADJUSTED A GOAL ABOUT, UH, COMMUNITY EVENTS TO CLARIFY THAT THE INTENT OF THAT GOAL IS TO ESTABLISH, UM, OUR EVENTS AS ZERO WASTE EVENTS. SO FOR THE NEXT STEPS IN IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PLAN, UH, WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE IDENTIFYING WAYS TO IMPLEMENT THE PLAN USING 2025 OPERATING BUDGET FUNDS. I LIKED YOUR, I LOVED YOUR LAST SUGGESTION THOUGH, AMY. I THINK THAT'S A GREAT IDEA. UM, THERE'S A LOT OF THINGS THAT THE CITY ALREADY DOES. FOR EXAMPLE, RECYCLING, STYROFOAM AND THE PUMPKINS AND, AND THEY ACTUALLY HAVE CHANGED PEOPLE'S BEHAVIORS. THEY HAVE. UM, I HAVE PEOPLE TELLING ME ALL THE TIME, LIKE, GOSH, I'VE LIVED IN SEVEN DIFFERENT CITIES. I'VE NEVER BEEN IN A CITY WHERE WE HAD STYROFOAM RECYCLING. AND IF YOU'VE EVER GONE BY THERE TO RECYCLE YOUR STYROFOAM, IT IS OFTEN FULL. IT'S ACTUALLY REALLY IMPRESSIVE. UM, YOU KNOW, WE DO THE DOCUMENT DESTRUCTION. THERE'S A LOT OF THINGS THAT WE DO. UM, AND I WANNA MAKE SURE THAT WE ALSO ARE NODDING TO THE THINGS THAT WE ARE ALREADY DOING, YOU KNOW, AS WE GO THROUGH THAT IMPLEMENTATION. THEY WILL HIRE THE CONSULTANT IN THREE TO SEVEN YEARS. SO I WENT TO THE, UM, AIR SHOW ON FRIDAY DOWN AT RICK AND BECKER, AND THEY HAD ISSUED CUPS TO ALL OF THE VENDORS THAT WERE THERE, AND THEY WERE ALL COM UM, COMPOSTABLE PLASTICS. AND SO THEY HAD, THEY HAD, THEY HAD DICTATED OF, IF YOU WERE GOING TO BE A VENDOR, THIS IS WHAT YOU WERE GOING TO USE. UM, BUT, YOU KNOW, MAYBE WE NEED TO, INSTEAD OF, YOU KNOW, MAYBE WE NEED TO APPROACH MORE OF AN OHIO STATE FOOTBALL THING WAS WE HAVE TO, MAYBE THE RECEPTACLES ARE ATTENDED. WE HAVE SO MANY PEOPLE THAT WANNA VOLUNTEER AND SO MANY PEOPLE IN THIS COMMUNITY THAT ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT, MAYBE WE PUT TOGETHER A GROUP OF PEOPLE THAT WOULD BE WILLING TO ATTEND THOSE, UM, THOSE AND HELP PEOPLE UNDERSTAND. I SAW A LOT OF PEOPLE WALKING UP AND TRYING TO READ IT AND KIND OF GOING BACK AND FORTH LIKE THIS BEFORE THEY DROPPED IT IN A SLOT. SO, UM, THAT SOME OF THE TIMEFRAMES, AND I GET IT, THERE'S A LOT OF WORK TO BE DONE AND EVERYONE'S ALREADY BUSY. BUT IF, IF I COULD CLARIFY THAT, THAT ONE POINT, THE, UM, AND THIS IS PROBABLY SOMETHING THAT CAN BE CLARIFIED IN THE REPORT. UM, WE ACTUALLY HAD A CONSULTANT ON SITE THIS THIS YEAR AT THE IRISH FESTIVAL. THE CONSULTANT, UM, IS ON BOARD. WE'VE ENCUMBERED THOSE FUNDS AND, UM, THE THREE TO SEVEN YEARS IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THAT IS MAKING SURE THAT WE CAN KIND OF SPACE OUT PERHAPS LARGER, UM, INCREASES. SO, UH, ONE OF THE THINGS THAT OHIO STATE DOES REALLY WELL IS THEY SEND EVERY PIECE OF TRASH THAT IS THROWN AWAY, RECYCLED, COMPOSTED, IT GOES, AND IT, EVERYTHING IS SORTED. UM, AND SO WE'RE VERY FORTUNATE, WE HAVE A CONTRACTOR THAT DOES, UH, ABOUT 60% OF THAT. SO AS MUCH AS THEY PHYSICALLY CAN DO, THEY GO THROUGH AND THEY SORT THE RECYCLING AND THEN IF THEY HAVE THE CAPACITY AND THE ABILITY TO, THEY'RE GOING THROUGH THE TRASH. AND SO WE'VE, WE'VE KIND OF ALREADY, UH, HAD A LITTLE BIT OF A WRAP WITH, UH, THE CONSULTANT THAT WE HAD HIRED FOR THAT TO TALK ABOUT THAT. AND THAT'S CERTAINLY ONE OF THE IDEAS IS EXPANDING THE SCOPE OF THAT. BUT ALONG WITH THAT COMES MONEY. SO WE'RE TRYING TO SPREAD THAT OUT OVER THE NEXT THREE TO SEVEN YEARS SO THAT, THAT CAN PROBABLY BE CLARIFIED THAT THAT THREE TO SEVEN YEARS IS IMPLEMENTATION OF THE IDEAS. BUT WE'LL HAVE BY THE END OF THE YEAR THE REPORT FOR THOSE IDEAS AND BE ABLE TO INCLUDE THOSE IN FUTURE, PERHAPS SUPPLEMENTALS NEXT YEAR OR FUTURE OPERATING BUDGETS FOR THE EVENTS TEAM, UM, AND DETERMINING WHERE THOSE SHOULD GO. AND, UM, UH, WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING THE REPORTS THAT COME OUT OF THAT. ADDITIONALLY, WE'VE SEEN A REDUCTION IN THEFT FROM VEHICLE REPORTS IN 2025 AS COMPARED TO 2024 AND SEEN A SLIGHT INCREASE IN THE TOTAL NUMBER OF, UH, MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS, UH, FROM 2024, BUT CURRENTLY WELL BELOW WHERE WE WERE AT IN 2023 BURGLARIES AND B ANDES. UH, THE DIFFERENCE OF THE TWO AS A BURGLARY IS AT A RESIDENTIAL, UH, PROPERTY, A BREAKING AND ENTERING OFFENSE WOULD BE AT A BUSINESS, UH, ONLY EIGHT BREAKING AND ENTERINGS. AGAIN, ANY OF THOSE OFFENSES THAT I TALK ABOUT TONIGHT, THERE'S AN IMPACT ON A COMMUNITY MEMBER. HOWEVER, UM, WE ARE SIGNIFICANT SHOWING A SIGNIFICANT DECREASE IN BURGLARY AND BREAKING AND ENTERING OFFENSES AND A SLIGHT INCREASE IN BURGLARY OFFENSES. AND WE'LL GET INTO SOME OF THE TRENDS THAT WE'RE SEEING LATER ON IN THE BRIEFING IN REGARDS TO GOAL NUMBER THREE, WHICH REVOLVES AROUND TRAFFIC, UH, OFFENSES AND TRAFFIC CRASHES SHOWING A SLIGHT INCREASE IN TRAFFIC CRASHES. UM, AND, AND JUST A, A SMALL INCREASE IN SERIOUS INJURY CRASHES, UH, WITH 13 OF THOSE IN 2025 THUS FAR, WHICH IS AN INCREASE FROM TWO, UH, FROM 2024. AND AS WE MOVE ALONG TO, UH, OPERATING A VEHICLE IMPAIRED TYPE OFFENSES, UH, WE'VE SEEN A REDUCTION IN OVI RELATED CRASHES. UH, AND WE REMAIN CONSISTENT IN OUR OFFICER'S ACTIVITY IN REGARDS TO OVI ARRESTS AND, AND ENFORCEMENT REVOLVING ALCOHOL RELATED OFFENSES. UH, AND THEN LASTLY, UH, I'LL COVER OUR, UH, TRAFFIC STOP NUMBERS. UH, NEARLY 7,000 TRAFFIC STOPS, UM, WHEN WE COLLECTED THIS, UH, DATA FOR THE YEAR. SO CERTAINLY THE, UH, FULL STAFFING IN OUR TRAFFIC UNIT AND OUR DEDICATION FROM OUR PATROL OFFICERS IN REGARDS TO TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT. EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ON SAFE ROADWAYS AS WELL AS, UH, SHOWING A VISIBLE PRESENCE IN THE COMMUNITY HELPS US REDUCE OTHER CRIMES THROUGHOUT THE CITY. UH, HOWEVER WE HAVE SEEN, UH, DECREASES IN OVI RELATED CRASHES AGAIN, OFFICERS HAVE MADE OVER 7,000 TRAFFIC STOPS, UH, YEAR TO DATE THUS FAR, UH, AND ALSO SEEN DECREASES IN THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLES AND FROM, UH, BURGLARY OFFENSES. AS WE TAKE A DEEPER DIVE INTO SOME OF THAT, UH, DATA, AGAIN, OUT OF THE MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS, WE'VE SEEN AN INCREASE ONLY BY EIGHT SINCE 2024. SO THAT'S ABOUT 39% OF, UH, OUR TOTAL MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS THAT, UM, BY SIMPLY, UH, TAKING YOUR KEYS WITH YOU COULD HAVE POTENTIALLY PREVENTED THAT OFFENSE. SO AGAIN, WE'VE BEEN WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LINDSAY AND HER TEAM TO INCREASE OUR COMMUNITY AND MESSAGING TO MAKE THE PUBLIC AWARE OF, UH, THIS, THIS TREND THAT WE'RE SEEING. AND ADDITIONALLY, UH, AS YOU'VE HEARD BEFORE, HYUNDAIS AND KIAS CONTINUE TO, UM, UH, HAVE MANUFACTURERS DEFECTS, UM, ON CERTAIN YEARS OF THOSE VEHICLES. 15 OF OUR, OUR 46 UM, OR HYUNDAI OR KIA VEHICLES, UH, OUT OF THAT TOTAL OF 46 MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS. ADDITIONALLY IN THEFT FROM VEHICLE ACTIVITY, UM, ABOUT 34% OF OUR THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLES WERE UNLOCKED VEHICLES. SO AGAIN, COMMUNITY MESSAGING IS IMPORTANT PIECE OF, UH, US PREVENTING THOSE TYPES OF OFFENSES IN THE CITY. UH, PUBLIC EDUCATION AND AND ENCOURAGING FOLKS TO ENSURE THAT THEIR VEHICLES ARE LOCKED, UH, WHEN THEY LEAVE THEM UNATTENDED. AND THEN LASTLY, AS A RESULT OF, UM, A SLIGHT INCREASE IN OUR BURGLARY OFFENSES, UM, THERE WAS 15 TOTAL OF THOSE, UH, THUS FAR. YEAR TO DATE, SEVEN OUT OF 15 OF THOSE HAVE BEEN OPEN GARAGE DOORS OR OTHER OPEN DOORS IN FOLKS' HOMES. SO THREE, ADDITIONALLY WERE NO SIGNS OF FORCED ENTRY. SO USUALLY THOSE CAN ALSO BE ATTRIBUTED TO SOME SORT OF UNLOCKED DOOR. SO AGAIN, PUBLIC MESSAGING ENCOURAGING PIECE WILL MAKE FOLKS TO MAKE SURE IF, IF YOU'RE NOT OUTSIDE CLOSING YOUR GARAGE DOOR, MAKING SURE YOUR HOME, UH, EXTERIOR DOORS ARE SECURED, UH, ARE ALL GOOD PUBLIC MESSAGING, UH, ITEMS FOR US AND CPI TO WORK TOGETHER ONTO, UH, HELP REDUCE THOSE TYPES OF OFFENSES. UH, AND SPECIFICALLY FOLKS THAT, THAT SEEM TO BE TARGETING VEHICLES FOR FIREARMS ONLY. UH, AND TO UPDATE OUR, UH, PREVENTION EFFORTS TO NOTE TO THE PUBLIC, UH, ABOUT SECURING THEIR FIREARMS. SO WE'VE WORKED WITH CPI AGAIN TO, UH, TO UPDATE THAT INFORMATION AS WELL AS SOME OF THE SIGNS THAT YOU SEE AROUND THE PUBLIC IN AREAS THAT, UH, WE'VE IDENTIFIED AS, UM, AREAS WHERE WE WANTED TO INCREASE OUR THEFT PREVENTION MESSAGING THROUGH SIGNAGE, UM, SIGNS, SIGNS WILL BE UPDATED WITH THIS, UM, UPDATED LANGUAGE AS WELL. ALRIGHT, SO OUR FOURTH GOAL [01:50:01] INVOLVES ISSUES OF SIGNIFICANT COMMUNITY CONCERN AND OUR BIGGEST ONE OVER THE SUMMER, SOMETHING YOU'RE ALL FAMILIAR WITH. AND THAT'S OUR SPECIAL EVENTS. SO WE UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS AN EXPECTATION OF US TO BE ABLE TO SECURE SAFE AND ENJOYABLE EVENTS FOR EVERYBODY. AND I'M GONNA SHARE SOMETHING YOU ALREADY KNOW. WE WERE ABLE TO DO THAT DURING EVENT SEASON, UH, NOT THE LEAST OF WHICH WAS THE DUBLIN IRISH FEST AS THE LARGEST CITY EVENT. I'M JUST REALLY GRATEFUL TO HAVE SUCH GREAT PARTNERS AT ALL THE OTHER CITY DEPARTMENTS THAT HELP WITH THE PLANNING AND THEN THE EXECUTION OF THOSE PLANS AS WELL. SO DURING THE ENTIRE EVENT, WE HAD TWO POLICE DRONES THAT WERE AVAILABLE TO US. WE HAD TWO PILOTS DESIGNATED FOR THOSE DRONES. THAT'S IN ADDITION TO THE FOUR DRONE AS FIRST RESPONDER DRONES THAT WE HAD AVAILABLE AS WELL. THOSE WERE FANTASTIC FOR US TO GET EVERYTHING FROM AERIAL MAPS OF THE IRISH FAST GROUNDS TO REAL TIME, UM, INCIDENT UPDATES THAT HELPED US DEPLOY OUR RESOURCES ACCORDINGLY. UH, IN ADDITION TO THAT, WE HAVE A GREAT PARTNERSHIP WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND THEY PROVIDED THEIR SKY WATCH TOWER TO US FOR THE ENTIRETY OF THE EVENT. THEY ALSO ALSO STAFFED IT. SO WE HAD A MEMBER OF THEIR STAFF WHO WAS ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH US, UH, IF THEY SAW ANYTHING. AND, AND THAT WAS ON THE SOUTH LAWN OF THE IRISH FEST. YOU PROBABLY SAW A LOT OF THE VEHICLE BARRICADES THAT WE HAD UP. SO WE HAD A FEW, UH, AT, AT THE ENTRANCES. AND THEN WE ALSO HAD THE CEMENT BARRICADES AROUND THE, MOSTLY THE SOUTH AND EAST PART OF THE IRISH FE GROUNDS. DID ALSO WANNA HIGHLIGHT THE ADDITIONAL PATROL OFFICERS AND BUSINESS DISTRICT UNIT THAT WERE AVAILABLE THIS YEAR, AS YOU MAY REMEMBER, WE HAD A RASH OF THEFT FROM VEHICLES LAST YEAR DURING 2024 FOR THE IRISH FEST. AND SO WE WANTED TO BOLSTER OUR STAFFING AND ALSO HAVE SOME INTENTIONAL EFFORT IN METRO PLACE, BRIDGE PARK, AND ALL OF OUR HOTELS. I'M VERY HAPPY TO REPORT THAT WE EXPERIENCED ONLY ONE THEFT. I REALIZED THAT IS ONE COMMUNITY MEMBER WHO WAS IMPACTED BY THAT. BUT I'M VERY PROUD OF OUR OFFICER'S EFFORTS IN ONLY HAVING THAT ONE THEFT. UH, OUR MUTUAL AID PARTNERSHIPS ARE VERY, VERY STRONG. UM, BUT TO GIVE US A PROGRAM THAT IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER IN THE STATE. UM, FIRST OF ITS KIND WHERE WE'VE PARTNERED BOTH WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND OUR AND, UH, WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP FIRE. UH, SO THAT PROGRAM HAS BEEN IN PLACE SINCE, UH, MID-JULY, AND WE'VE HAD 46 DEPLOYMENTS OF THE DRONE FIRST RESPONDER, UH, DRONES AT THIS POINT. BUT I WANTED TO SHARE JUST A COUPLE EXAMPLES OF NOT ONLY WHAT THE VISION OF COUNCIL AND CITY MANAGER, UH, IN REGARDS TO THIS TYPE OF TECHNOLOGY TO SUPPORT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT BRINGS TO OUR ORGANIZATION, BUT SPECIFIC EXAMPLES OF HOW THAT TECHNOLOGY HAS HELPED KEEP RESIDENTS, UH, OF THIS COMMUNITY SAFE. UH, THE FIRST EXAMPLE, UH, THAT I'D LIKE TO SHARE HAPPENED ON AUGUST THE FIRST WHERE WE GOT A CALL OF AN INDIVIDUAL THAT WAS SLUMPED OVER IN A VEHICLE ON HARD ROAD. UM, WE WERE ABLE TO DEPLOY THE DRONE AS FIRST RESPONDER NEARLY IMMEDIATELY. UM, THAT DRONE WAS OVER TOP OF THE AREA WITHIN 50 SECONDS OF THAT PARTICULAR CALL COMING OUT TO OFFICERS, CLEARLY THAT BEAT ANY OFFICER OR PARAMEDIC [01:55:01] THAT WAS RESPONDING TO THAT SCENE. AND WE WERE ABLE TO USE THE DRONE TO GUIDE IN OFFICERS AND PARAMEDICS TO THIS INDIVIDUAL THAT NEEDED ASSISTANCE. UH, SO THAT QUICK RESPONSE, UH, HELPED TO KEEP THAT INDIVIDUAL SAFE, UH, AND GET EMERGENCY RESPONSE TO THEM, UH, QUICKER THAN CERTAINLY IT WOULD'VE BEEN IF WE DIDN'T HAVE THAT TYPE OF TECHNOLOGY. UH, NEXT WAS AN INCIDENT ON AUGUST THE 12TH WHERE SOMEONE CALLED AND STATED THAT HER FRIEND WAS HAVING HALLUCIS HALLUCINATIONS AND POTENTIALLY OVERDOSING ON ILLEGAL DRUGS, UM, STATED THAT THAT PERSON WAS IN A WOODS, UM, AND THOUGHT PEOPLE WERE AFTER HIM. UH, THEY USED AN EMERGENCY PHONE PING FROM OUR COMMUNICATION CENTER AND REALIZED THAT THIS INDIVIDUAL WAS SOMEWHERE IN A WOODED TREE LINE NEAR METRO PLACE SOUTH. AGAIN, THE DFR WAS DEPLOYED AND HELPED LOCATE THAT INDIVIDUAL WITHIN FIVE MINUTES. UM, AND WITHIN FIVE MINUTES, WE WERE ABLE TO UTILIZE, UH, THE TECHNOLOGY THAT IS IN THOSE DRONE, THE, IN THOSE DRONES, UH, TO PROVIDE AN EXACT COORDINATE LOCATION TO GUIDE IN OUR OFFICERS TO BE ABLE TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THAT PERSON AND GET THEM THE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE THAT THEY NEEDED IN THAT, UH, IN THAT TIME OF NEED. AND THEN LASTLY, AN INCIDENT JUST TWO DAYS LATER, UH, IN AUGUST WHERE THERE WAS A REPORT OF A 13-YEAR-OLD, 13-YEAR-OLD AUTISTIC INDIVIDUAL THAT WAS WALKING IN THE ROADWAY SOMEWHERE ON WILCOX ROAD. AGAIN, THE DEPLOYMENT OF THOSE DRONES WERE ABLE TO HELP US GUIDE OFFICERS AND RESOURCES TO THAT INDIVIDUAL AND RECONNECT THEM WITH THEIR FAMILY. SO REALLY THREE GREAT EXAMPLES OF, OF THAT TECHNOLOGY BEING USED TO, TO KEEP OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS SAFE AND HELP EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONDERS GET TO THOSE FOLKS THAT ARE IN NEED. 'CAUSE A LOT OF THE RESIDUAL NOISE FROM TWO 70 FLOWS DOWN, UH, INTO EITHER RESIDENTIAL AREAS OR INTO BRIDGE PARK. SO CERTAINLY THAT'S A FOCUS, UM, OF THAT UNIT. UH, YOU INDICATED THAT THE THIRD OR 18 OF THOSE HAD KEY FOBS LEFT IN THEM, AND 15 WERE EITHER HYUNDAI OR KIAS. HOW MANY OF THE HYUNDAI OR KIAS WERE ALSO KEYS OR FOBS LEFT IN THEM? ARE THOSE, I DO NOT HAVE THAT SPECIFIC, UH, DATA WITH YOU, BUT WHAT I, UH, I CERTAINLY CAN TAKE A LOOK AT THAT AND WE CAN GET THAT BACK TO YOU. TRADITIONALLY, WHAT WE'VE SEEN OUT OF THE KIA AND HYUNDAIS, THOSE ARE MORE OF A FORCED ENTRY, UH, TYPE OF VEHICLE THEFT THAN, THAN SOME OF THE OTHERS WITH THE KEY FOBS. BUT WE CAN GET A BREAKDOWN FOR YOU. AND OF THE, UM, OF THE CRIMES THAT HAVE BEEN SOLVED OR THAT YOU HAVE FOUND THE PERPETRATORS, WHAT PERCENTAGE OF THEM ARE DUBLIN RESIDENTS VERSUS OUTSIDE THE CITY? UH, I COULDN'T QUOTE THE EXACT PERCENTAGE, BUT PREDOMINANTLY, UM, THESE ARE NOT DUBLIN RESIDENTS THAT ARE COMMITTING THESE TYPE OF OFFENSES. WE'VE SEEN, UH, GROUPS FROM OTHER COMMUNITIES THAT WILL COME IN AND COMMIT EITHER THEFT FROM VEHICLES OR THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLES. UM, AND THEY'RE NOT JUST TARGETING THE DUBLIN COMMUNITY, THEY'RE TARGETING CENTRAL OHIO COMMUNITIES. SO, UH, OUR DETECTIVES AND COMMUNITY IMPACT UNIT INVESTIGATORS AND OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT PLANNER ALL HAVE GOOD CONNECTIVITY TO OUR PARTNER AGENCIES, UH, TO, UH, TO WORK WITH THEM. BECAUSE A LOT OF THE SUSPECTS THAT ARE COMMITTING OFFENSES HERE ALSO HAVE CONNECTIVITY TO THOSE OTHER COMMUNITIES. SO, UH, WE, WE OFTENTIMES WORK JOINT INVESTIGATIONS WITH THOSE OTHER AGENCIES TO LOCATE THOSE OFFENDERS. UH, I, I THINK IN THE LAST CITY MANAGER, UH, UPDATE, UH, WE ADDED SOME INFORMATION ABOUT A SEARCH WARRANT THAT WAS JUST CONDUCTED BY OUR COMMUNITY IMPACT UNIT INVESTIGATORS WITH LICKING COUNTY AND, UM, A COUPLE OTHER ORGANIZATIONS, UH, AROUND THE CENTRAL OHIO AREA ON AN INDIVIDUAL THAT HAD BEEN STEALING MOTOR VEHICLES, FOUR OF WHICH OCCURRED IN THE CITY OF DUBLIN. UM, AND THEN SEVERAL OTHERS THAT OCCURRED OUTSIDE. UH, HE LIVED JUST OUTSIDE OF, UH, OUR JURISDICTION JUST SOUTH OF OUR JURISDICTION. UH, AND WE ASSISTED WITH THE EXECUTION OF THAT SEARCH WARRANT HELD HIM ACCOUNTABLE FOR THOSE OFFENSES. THANK YOU FOR THAT. AND, AND THANKS FOR THIS REPORT. SO, AS COUNCIL'S AWARE, MORSEY IS A PLANNING PARTNER FOR THE MIDWEST CONNECT PASSENGER RAIL CORRIDOR STUDY, WHICH CONNECTS CHICAGO, FORT WAYNE, COLUMBUS, AND PITTSBURGH. AND THAT STUDIES PART OF THE FEDERAL RAILROAD ADMINISTRATION OR THE RA'S CORRIDOR IDENTIFICATION AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. AND THE ROUTE CAN BE SEEN ON THE SCREEN. THE CITY OF FORT WAYNE IS THE LEAD APPLICANT AND THE PROJECT SPONSOR. THEY WERE AWARDED $500,000 OF FEDERAL PLANNING GRANT FOR STEP ONE OF THE CORRIDOR ID PROGRAM. STEP ONE INCLUDES DEVELOPING A SCOPE OF WORK, A SCHEDULE, AND A BUDGET FOR THE SUBSEQUENT, UM, CORRIDOR ID PROGRAM STEPS, THE MIDWEST CONNECT TEAM WILL NOT NEED TO RECOMPETE FOR STEPS TWO AND THREE, AND FOLLOWING A NOTICE TO PROCEED FROM THE FEDERAL RAIL ADMINISTRATION, FEDERAL FUNDS WILL BE RELEASED FOR STEP TWO, WHICH INVOLVES CREATING A SERVICE DEVELOPMENT PLAN. UM, FEDERAL FUNDS ARE EXPECTED TO COVER 90% OF THE STEP TWO OVERALL COSTS WITH THE REMAINING 10% NEEDING TO BE PROVIDED AS A NON-FEDERAL MATCH. SO THE ESTIMATED COST OF STEP TWO IS APPROXIMATELY $7 MILLION, WHICH REQUIRES A NON-FEDERAL MATCH OF $700,000. TO DEMONSTRATE THE REGION'S COMMITMENT TO ADVANCING THIS CORRIDOR, MOR PS E PROPOSES THAT OHIO COMMUNITIES AND REGIONS CONTRIBUTE 20% OF THE NON-FEDERAL MATCH WITH THE REMAINING NON-FEDERAL MATCH BEING REQUESTED FROM OTHER STATES AND COMMUNITIES ALONG THE CORRIDOR OUTSIDE OF OHIO. THE MIDWEST CONNECT PASSENGER RAIL PROJECT IS SIGNIFICANT FOR CENTRAL OHIO. IT FURTHERS OUR ENVISIONED DUBLIN COMMUNITY PLAN AS IT OPENS ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES. IT ALSO ADVANCES OUR MULTIMODAL THOROUGHFARE PLAN. UM, MARY AMMA GROOMS THROUGH HER ROLE WITH TAKEN A SIGNIFICANT LEADERSHIP ROLE IN THE REGION, WORKING HARD TO ADVANCE THE MIDWEST CONNECT CORRIDOR. I ALSO SERVE ON THE CENTRAL OHIO PASSENGER RAIL ADVISORY COUNCIL. AND AS A CITY, WE'VE ALSO BEEN LEANING FORWARD FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW, UM, WITH THE RAIL STATION STUDY AND OTHER EFFORTS. SO I RECOMMEND THAT THE CITY, UM, SUPPORT THIS EFFORT, UM, WITH A CONTRIBUTION OF $50,000 TOWARDS THE MIDWEST CONNECT PASSENGER RAIL PROJECT. UM, SINCE THIS WASN'T SPECIFICALLY DISCUSSED DURING THE BUDGETING FOR 2025, I WANTED TO MAKE COUNCIL AWARE THE REQUEST OF MORSEY AND ALSO VERIFY COUNCIL'S SUPPORT FOR THIS CONTRIBUTION. BEFORE SUBMITTING A LETTER OF, UM, COMMITMENT TO MORSEY, UM, I WOULD PLAN TO USE $30,000 FROM A LINE ITEM THAT WE HAVE DESIGNATED IN THE BUDGET FOR MORSEY STUDIES GENERALLY. AND THEN THE REMAINING BALANCE COULD COME FROM, UH, CONTINGENCY FUNDS THAT ARE IDENTIFIED IN THE CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE. SO, WITH THAT, I DON'T KNOW IF MARY AMMOS GROOMS WOULD LIKE TO ADD ANYTHING. THEY'RE UTILIZING A COMMUNITY AUTHORITY TO HELP, UH, SUPPORT THAT LONG-TERM INFRASTRUCTURE. UM, JEROME VILLAGE IS EXPANDING UP ALONG 42. I THINK PEOPLE PROBABLY ARE STARTING TO NOTICE THAT THE HOSPITAL IS EXPANDING UP THERE. BANKS ARE COMING IN. THERE'S QUITE A, QUITE A BIT OF COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT UP ALONG 42. AND THE OTHER THING THAT I MIGHT MENTION IS THAT THERE WAS A PRETTY LIVELY DISCUSSION AT THE END, UM, CONCERNING THE, UH, 1 61 WEST SECTION BETWEEN PLAIN CITY AND DUBLIN. AND, UM, AS KATHY MENTIONED, UM, ODOT IS STUDYING THAT FOR THE NEEDS FOR THE FUTURE INFRASTRUCTURE THERE, WHICH THERE WAS A MENTION THAT IT MIGHT EVEN BE FIVE LANES, AND EVERYBODY WENT, OH, JUST LIKE THE LOOK ON YOUR FACE . UH, SO THAT IS YET TO COME. BUT WHAT IS WAS INTERESTING IS THAT IT WAS A LIVELY CONVERSATION BECAUSE IT, THIS AREA IS BEING IMPACTED BY SO MANY MUNICIPALITIES, UH, JEROME TOWNSHIP, PLAIN CITY, MARYSVILLE, DUBLIN, MADISON COUNTY. SO, UM, IT'S GOOD TO KNOW THAT THAT IS, UM, CONVERSATION THAT'S OCCURRING AMONG ALL OF THOSE ENTITIES. THE NEW, UH, EXHIBIT FOR THE CITY IS CALLED, UM, MONO GONZALES GONZALEZ, UM, OPEN SEPTEMBER 13TH. UH, PLEASE STOP BY. THERE'LL BE APPETIZERS AND BEVERAGES. THANK YOU. VERY GOOD. MS. SO I ATTENDED THE WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP MEETING ON THE 12TH, A PRETTY QUIET MEETING, BUT I DID, UM, THANK THEM ON COUNCIL'S BEHALF FOR ALL OF THEIR EFFORTS FOR 4TH OF JULY AND FOR IRISH FESTIVAL FOR ARCHITECTURE REVIEW BOARD. AND THEN THERE'S NO TOWNSHIP MEETING TOMORROW. THEY USUALLY HAVE TWO MONTHS, BUT THERE'S NOT ONE TOMORROW. THE ARCHITECTURE REVIEW BOARD HAS A MEETING THIS WEEK ON THE 27TH. AND ACTUALLY, THE ONE NOTABLE CASE, I WOULD SAY IS, I THINK IT'S OUR FIRST CASE OF SOLAR PANELS IN THE HISTORIC DISTRICT. SO IT'S ON, UH, FRANKLIN STREET. THERE WAS A RECOMMENDATION FOR APPROVAL, BUT I, I BELIEVE IT'S GONNA BE OUR FIRST ONE. GREAT. THAT'S IT. UH, I WILL GIVE THE UPDATE FOR THE MID OHIO REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION. UH, WE DID HAVE, UM, WE MET ON THE 14TH OF AUGUST. AND, UH, AS YOU CAN IMAGINE, WITH THE DEPARTURE OF MICHELLE CRANDALL FROM BEING THE CITY MANAGER OF HILLIARD, WE HAD AN OPENING, UM, IN THE, UH, VICE CHAIR POSITION. SO WE DID HOLD ELECTIONS ON THAT DAY. UH, MY TIME AS CHAIR WAS EXTENDED, UM, BEN KESSLER, WHO HAD SERVED AS MAYOR OF BEXLEY, WHO HAD SERVED AS THE SECRETARY, MOVED INTO THE VICE CHAIR POSITION. AND MAYOR LORI JAIN FROM THE CITY OF GAHANA, UM, BECAME SECRETARY. SO THOUGH THAT WILL BE THE OFFICERS MOVING FORWARD, UM, IN THAT ORGANIZATION. AND WITH [COUNCIL ROUNDTABLE] THAT, THAT WILL BRING US TO COUNCIL ROUND TABLE. I'LL START AT MY FAR RIGHT. WELL, FIRST I'LL SAY CONGRATULATIONS FOR YOUR REAPPOINTMENT TO THE MORSE BOARD CHAIR. UH, PRETTY BUSY. WE, WELL, SINCE WE LEFT, IT'S BEEN TWO WEEKS, I GUESS. UM, ON THE 11TH, KATHY AND CHRIS AND I DID THE, WE WERE ALL AT THE RIBBON CUTTING FOR BISHOP ELEMENTARY. I THINK IT WAS THE MOST ATTENDED RIBBON CUTTING FOR A SCHOOL. I MEAN, IT, IT WAS PACKED. THE GYMNASIUM WAS FULL. UH, AND IT WAS GREAT TO SEE SO MANY PEOPLE OUT AND ABOUT. UH, THEN THERE WAS OBVIOUS, UH, WE HAD THE CHA CHAMBER HAD IT'S, UH, BUSINESS EVENT DURING THE DAY, AND THEN A WONDERFUL EVENING CELEBRATION. SO CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CHAMBER ON THEIR 50TH ANNIVERSARY. UM, AND THEN, LET'S SEE, WHAT ELSE? I THINK THAT'S ABOUT ALL THAT'S BEEN GOING ON. THANKS. GREAT. THE VETERANS GROUP'S CURRENTLY WORKING ON THE ARMAND DAY PROGRAM ON 11 11 11, AND A TON OF OTHER INTERESTING PROJECTS. AND THEN I WANNA SAY THAT I HAD THE FUN OF PARTICIPATING IN THE FAMOUS DUBLIN RIVER CLEANUP. SO CHECK THIS OUT. THIS IS PRETTY IMPRESSIVE. UM, THESE ARE OUR CLAMS, UH, THAT WATER'S COMING OVER THE DAM. AND, UH, IT'S REALLY NEAT TO SEE A BIODIVERSITY THAT WE HAVE THERE. IT IS A GREAT GROUP OF PEOPLE. I DID TALK TO A LADY WHO WORKS THE CIO RIVER ALL THE WAY DOWN AND THROUGH COLUMBUS, AND SHE SAID, LEMME TELL YOU, YOU GUYS ARE SO LUCKY. YOUR WATER'S SO CLEAN UP HERE, UH, AS YOU MOVE FARTHER DOWN, NOT SO GOOD. SO, JUST A NEAT EXAMPLE OF WHAT WE'RE DOING HERE. SO THANK YOU. SO I WANNA SHARE A SUCCESS STORY OF OUR COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT CORPORATION, THE DUBLIN COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT CORPORATION FACADE GRANT PROGRAM. SO WE'VE ALL SEEN THE EYESORE, FORMER EYESORE ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE DUBLIN VILLAGE TAVERN, 30 32 SOUTH HIGH STREET. [02:25:01] UM, MARK AND TODD CORWIN AND TODD'S WIFE, JENNIFER HAVE PASSIONATELY RESTORED THAT MOSTLY ON THEIR OWN, A LOT OF ELBOW GREASE. UM, WE AWARDED THEM $25,000 FOR EACH ADDRESS. THERE ARE TWO STRUCTURES THERE. SO THEY RECEIVED A CHECK FOR $50,000 TODAY. AND I ACT, I WAS IN THERE JUST ADMIRING THE WORKMANSHIP, AND IN WALKS MITCH AMONT WITH THE CHECK FOR $50,000. SO I ACTUALLY GOT TO SEE THIS THING GET HANDED OFF. UM, THAT, THAT IS A HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT PROPERTY THERE. THE LOGS ARE, UM, EXPOSED IN THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING, AND THEY DIDN'T REALLY CHANGE THE FOOTPRINT VERY MUCH. SO, YOU KNOW, I CAN CERTAINLY, UM, SUPPORT WHAT THEY DID AND THE WORK THAT THE ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD PUT IN ON THAT PROJECT. SO IT'S, IT'S REALLY GREAT TO SEE SOMETHING THAT WE'VE CREATED THIS, THIS FACADE GRANT PROGRAM, REALLY DO WHAT COUNCIL HAS BEEN WANTING TO HELP HISTORIC DISTRICT, UM, RESIDENTS DO. FOR THE LAST AT LEAST FIVE YEARS, WE'VE HAD THIS CONVERSATION OF HOW CAN WE CHANGE THE BLIGHTED ADDRESSES? AND IT'S REALLY BEEN THEM DOING IT THEMSELVES WITH A LITTLE BIT OF OUR HELP. SO I JUST WANTED TO SHARE THAT. SO THEY'RE HAVING A SERIES OF SOFT OPENINGS, UM, FROM NOW UNTIL NEXT FRIDAY WHEN THEY'RE HAVING THEIR ACTUAL GRAND OPENING. SO I, I ENCOURAGE YOU TO STOP BY. UM, AND THE CONVERSATION IN OUR MEETING THERE REALLY REVOLVED AROUND TWO THINGS. ONE IS SAFETY AND, AND TWO IS TAXES, THE SAFETY PORTION OF THE CONVERSATION. UM, WE'RE REALLY FORTUNATE THAT MAYOR PERVA WAS THERE TO TALK ABOUT SOME OF THE THINGS THAT HAD HAPPENED IN CINCINNATI, HOW THEY'RE DEALING WITH THEM, UM, THE WAY THE CONVERSATION IS GOING IN THE COMMUNITY, AND, UM, THEIR RESPONSE TO THAT. ADDITIONALLY, MAYOR RU WAS THERE FROM SPRINGFIELD WHO, YOU KNOW, WENT THROUGH A SIMILAR, UM, SITUATION, UH, WITH BEING THRUST INTO THE NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT IN TERMS OF THE MEDIA. SO THERE'S REALLY GOOD INFORMATION EXCHANGE THERE OF, UM, WHAT TO DOS AND WHAT HAPPENS AND HOW DO YOU RESPOND. AND, UM, I THINK THERE'S A LOT OF LESSONS THERE TO LEARN. SO I APPRECIATED THAT TIME THERE. UM, ON THE 14TH, WE, I HAD ALREADY GIVEN THE MORSI UPDATE AND THEN THAT EVENING FOR THE CHAMBER EVENT. AND I, I TELL YOU, I, THAT OBVIOUSLY IT WAS MOVING TO ME FOR DIFFERENT REASONS, BUT THE PEOPLE THAT WERE IN THE ROOM WERE PEOPLE THAT WERE, UM, PLAYED SIGNIFICANT ROLES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS COMMUNITY. AND JUST WANNA THANK THEM AGAIN FOR THE WORK THAT THEY'VE DONE, THE PEOPLE THAT THEY ARE, AND THE COMPANIES THAT THEY REPRESENT. UM, THAT IT IS CERTAINLY HAS BEEN IMPACTFUL. UH, HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND THE JAPA, UH, JAPAN FEST ON THE 16TH, AND, UM, HAVE DINNER AFTERWARDS, UH, WITH SOME OF THE LEADERSHIP OF JASKO, UH, THE HAAHS AND THE CONS, GENERAL JIMMY KISHI MAORI, UM, GREAT CONVERSATION WITH THEM AND REALLY UNDERSTAND, TO HELP ME UNDERSTAND, UH, SOME OF THE THINGS THAT THEY WANT TO DO DIFFERENTLY IN, IN MOVING AHEAD, UH, THROUGHOUT THEIR ORGANIZATION IN THE, IN THE COMMUNITY. ON THE 18TH, UH, CHIEF AND I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET WITH COLUMBUS HUMANE, UM, FOR THE, UH, PET CONVERSATION ABOUT, YOU'VE PROBABLY SEEN SOME VICIOUS DOG ATTACKS THAT HAVE HAPPENED, UH, IN THE NEWS MEDIA AND JUST TALK ABOUT, UM, [02:30:01] HOW WE INTERACT WITH THEM AND THE RESOURCES THAT WE CAN PROVIDE TO THEM AND THAT THEY CAN PROVIDE TO US. UM, I DID HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY ON THE 20TH TO ATTEND THE, UM, UNIVAR, UH, HAD A PICNIC AND I WENT AND HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO REPRESENT THEM. THEY HAD GLOWING THINGS TO SAY ABOUT OUR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TEAM AND THE WORK THAT WE DO, UM, IN THE GROWTH OF THEIR OWN COMPANY AND, UM, HOW HAPPY THEY ARE TO BE HERE IN THE CITY OF DUBLIN. AND I, UH, EXTENDED TO HIM ALL OF OUR THANKS FOR, UM, FOR BEING HERE AS WELL. UH, ON THE 21ST, I HAD A, AN ADDITIONAL OHIO MAYORS ALLIANCE MEETING AND A, UM, ITC UH, MEETING FOR THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES. UH, HAPPY TO DIVULGE THAT, BUT THE HOUR IS GETTING LATE.
